More Rave Reviews on Our Pianos and
Our Services

Dear Joe:

We wanted you to know how thoroughly pleased we are with our new piano! Thank you for – well, everything; finding the right piano, your patience and your guidance. Our kids are taking lessons – and I’m even playing again. We are grateful!

Sincerely

Patty Sue Femrite

Dear Joe:

I am so appreciative to you for finding that beautiful Mason & Hamlin Piano! I enjoy it every day and will treasure it always. Thank you from a very pleased customer

Best Wishes

Nancy Goodman-Waldman

Dear Joe:

Your season’s greetings card prompted me to write this note because I wanted to let you know that the Steinway continues to give me great pleasure. I play it almost every day and recently accompanied the chorus for the first time! Many thanks again!

Sincerely

Jeff

Dear Mr. Woods:

My wife is still sitting at the new Seiler piano. She loves it!! Thank you for providing us the unique opportunity to purchase an instrument of such fine quality. We appreciate your love for music and the people who produce it. We may not be famous or wealthy but you still dealt with us in a fair and professional manner, thank you, Mr. Woods.

Teresa Sparks

Dear Joe:

I just wanted to take an opportunity to thank you for your generosity with the use of your piano and for your warm, easy manner in everything you do. I really appreciate it! The event was wonderfully successful and the piano was a big hit. The school had never seen such quality!

Many Thanks

Mary C.

Dear Joe:

Thank you so very much for all you have done to and for my piano! I am listening to it even as I write and it is truly wonderful! I will think of you often when I play it – especially your kindness in keeping it for me as I made my move to Texas.
Perhaps one day I will have the opportunity to actually meet you and thank you in person! Until then, may you be blessed in your work – a work that brings much happiness to others.

Sincerely

Ralene Bills

Dear Joe:

Thanks so much for the special evening with the pianists and Dr Blüthner. We enjoyed it very much!
Is there a possibility we could hold our November 7th gathering in the grand piano room at your studio? There are several members of our group looking for pianos, so it would be a nice chance to hear them and try them out. Let me know if this would work.
Thanks again! It’s great to have found your wonderful shop!

Respectfully
Deborah Chen

Dear Joe:

I'm sorry you missed my verbal thank you at the concert, so I needed to put in writing our gratitude to you for making the concert a possibility and a great success!
Dr. Raimo just loved the piano and everyone seemed to really enjoy the two piano selections. I didn't want to ask this great favor of you but you were so gracious and didn't flinch when the subject was approached!
And so I thank you for your generosity, both actual and in spirit and your never failing kindness.
You are a treasure, indeed.

Jeanette

More information about Woods& Son Piano Company

Our Background - The Charles C. Woods & Son Tradition Joseph Woods learned the art of piano tuning from his father Charles in Pennsylvania. In 1865 after the Civil War he mustered out of the Union Army and was awarded a homestead in Longmont, Colorado. He sent for his father and they opened a father and son piano tuning and repair business. In 1895, Joseph and his son Leo opened the Woods & Son piano store in Ft. Collins. Around this time, another son, Carlton, moved to Denver and went to work for the Knight Campbell Music Co. He was invited to the Steinway factory in New York for a two-year training program. He then returned to the Denver area as a factory trained Steinway technician.

Five years later, he opened his own piano tuning and rebuilding business. Carlton ran the business until 1945, handing it over to his son Charles II. While Charles is still active in the business, he passed leadership of the company to his son Joseph II in 1990. Joseph continues rebuilding, buying and selling Steinway and other fine grand pianos. The company has since expanded to new piano sales including the renowned Bluthner, Seiler, Mason-Hamlin, Petrof and August Förster lines.
