All of our new pianos have full factory warranties and
our used pianos are guaranteed by our company.
More specifics? The following details are intended to give you a general feel for what
constitutes a piano manufacturer
warrantee. - A warrantee from a
reputable manufacturer such as
Yamaha, Steinway or Mason & Hamlin
usually will have language saying
that the company will cover defects
of workmanship and materials for a
number of years.
- Generally, the warrantee coverage period can range from five, ten, twelve years. Five years for pre - owned
pianos and 10 or 12 years for new
pianos.
- All the piano manufactures
warranty's qualify and differentiate
between what is considered routine
maintenance and the types of
problems that relate to manufacturer
defects.
- Routine maintenance is tuning,
regulation, voicing, humidity
control, etc.
- Why do the manufactures make
this differentiation? Because, it is
very common for the new piano owner
to be confused by "problems" that
can occur in the home. Sorting out
the difference between a
manufacturer defect and a routine
piano maintenance issue is the job
for a fully qualified Piano Tuner -
Technician. (The best thing you can
do as a piano owner is to recognize
the vital importance of using a
Piano Tech on a regularly basis.
Your Technician will recommend to
you what that should be but most
Piano Manufactures recommend tuning
your piano 3 - 4 times the first
year of ownership and 2 times a year
during subsequent years). Piano
manufacturers almost always consider
the responsibility for piano
maintenance and care to be the
responsibility of the piano owner.
They can be pretty meticulous about
the distinction.
- We warranty all of our
pre-owned/used pianos with a
comprehensive 5 year warranty along
the lines described above.
